The brethren / John Grisham.
Three former judges at the Trumble, a minimum security federal prison camp, form a group called The Brethren that handles cases for other inmates, practice law without a license and mete jailhouse justice. When they start a mail scam, it ensnares the wrong victim who might have power and connections to put an end to the group's activities.
